Calling home while abroad

Your phone number, your SIM and your internet connection play different roles. A SIM normally connects to its carrier for calls and SMS. If that SIM travels overseas and uses a partner network, roaming terms can apply.
FebPhone’s approach keeps the home SIM in an Android server at home. The phone you carry connects to that service over the internet. This separates your home number from the device you carry, while retaining the need for a working home carrier service.
“No roaming fees” describes this home-SIM setup, not a promise that all calls or internet access are free. Your home plan, international outgoing calls, destination data plan and Wi-Fi costs still matter. Keep the home phone powered, connected and correctly configured, and check your own carrier terms before travel.
